Heat-exchange coefficient between the floor and the ambiance in floor cooling systems: theoretical or a question of definition?

Der Wärmeübergangskoeffizient zwischen Boden und Raum bei der Fussbodenkühlung: Theorie oder eine Definitionsfrage?

Author(s) : OLESEN B. W., MICHEL E., BONNEFOI F., et al.

Summary

In this article, the theory governing the overall coefficient of exchange between the surface of a chilling floor and the cooled premises is discussed and a distinction between exchange via convection and via radiation is drawn. The authors stress the importance of an accurate definition of the chosen location in terms of representativeness of the air in the premises. Theoretical considerations are presented then compared with experimental measurements.
