Summary

IN ALMOST ALL SOLAR PLANTS, THERE IS A HEAT EXCHANGER BETWEEN COLLECTORS AND THE STORAGE SYSTEM. VARIOUS TYPES OF HEAT EXCHANGERS CAN BE USED: WITH CONCENTRIC TUBES, MULTITUBULAR, PLATE, WITH IMMERSED COIL. WHEN THE EXCHANGER EFFICIENCY IS KNOWN, THE LOSSES DUE TO EXCHANGERS CAN BE EVALUATED. THE SELECTION OF THE EXCHANGER IS ACCORDING TO COST AND TO THE COST OF THE ADDITIONAL COLLECTING SURFACE FOR COUNTERBALANCING EFFICIENCY LOSS.
