THE COLD CANADIAN WINTER MAKES A GOOD TEST ZONE FOR AIR-AIR AND GROUND-AIR HEAT PUMPS. SURVEYS MADE WITHIN THE PAST 20 YEARS OF A TOTAL OF 1,284 INSTALLATIONS HAVE SHOWN AN INCREASE OF SEASONAL PERFORMANCE FACTOR FROM 1. 43 TO 1.70 WITH IMPROVED DESIGNS AND DEFROST METHODS.
