Summary

THE DESIGN OF HEAT PUMPS FOR HIGHER TEMPERATURES OF A HEAT SINK GIVES RISE TO MANY PROBLEMS. THESE ARE DEALT WITH IN THIS PAPER WHICH DISCUSSES THE ADVANTAGES OF USING R12B1 REFRIGERANT WHICH IS NOW BECOMING COMMON PRACTICE. THE HEAT PUMP PLANT IS WIDELY DISCUSSED AND SEVERAL TRIED SOLUTIONS GIVEN. CONCLUDES THAT HEAT PUMPS HAVING A WORKING TEMPERATURE OF 348-383 K (75-110 DEG C) ARE VERY ECONOMIC AND HAVE GIVEN SATISFACTORY RESULTS IN PRACTICE. (INT. BUILD. SERV.
