Summary

THE TEMPERATURE RANGE IS 373 TO 403 K (100 TO 130 DEG C) WHICH COVERS A WIDE SPECTRUM OF APPLICATIONS. COMPRESSION, ABSORPTION AND THERMOCOMPRESSION HEAT PUMPS ARE DISCUSSED. THE COSTS OF INDUSTRIAL HTHP'S ARE ESTIMATED AND THE ECONOMICS COMMENTED UPON. CONSIDERABLE DATA ARE GIVEN IN THE TABLE AND FIGURES. THE GAS ENGINED AND ELECTRIC MOTOR DRIVEN HEAT PUMPS ARE COMPARED.
