Heat pumps in the UK: current status and activities. General Information Report.

Author(s) : ETSU

Type of monograph: Booklet

Summary

This report covers heat pumps in domestic and commercial buildings and in industry. It gives emphasis to the perceived impact of heat pumps on CO2 emissions and reveals that the UK is now in a strong position to grasp any opportunities, both in the UK and on overseas markets. This context arises from a perceived need for heat pumps as a component of a strategy for energy efficiency and environmental protection. Similarly, where improving living and working conditions are continually expected, the UK manufacturing bases for heat pumps used for both heating and cooling is in an increasingly strong position to meet any growth in demand. Extract from the table of contents: the attitude of the decision makers in the UK;*the UK market position, major uses and potential new applications;*a summary of heat pump R&D in the UK; The appendix gives a list of information and networking organisations involved in heat pumps in the UK.
