HEAT PUMPS OR RESISTANCE HEATING FOR BOTTLE WASHING MACHINES.

[In Italian. / En italien.]

Type of article: Article

Summary

BOTTLE WASHING MACHINES REQUIRE A HEAT SOURCE AT ABOUT 333 AND 348 K (60 AND 75 DEG C) WHICH IS GENERALLY PROVIDED BY ELECTRICAL RESISTANCES, BUT HEAT ENERGY IS WASTED IN THE DRAIN WATER WHICH IS AT 308 K (35 DEG C). THIS THERMAL ENERGY CAN HOWEVER BE PROFITABLY RECOVERED BY MEANS OF A HEAT PUMP WORKING BETWEEN 308 AND 333 K AND THIS POSSIBILITY IS ANALYSED FROM THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMICAL POINTS OF VIEW. IN A TYPICAL CASE, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE EXTRA INVESTMENT CAN BE RECOVERED IN ABOUT TWO YEARS. E. F.
