THE TYPE OF HEAT RECOVERY DISCUSSED INVOLVES A HEAT RECOVERY CONDENSER IN PARALLEL WITH A HEAT REJECTION CONDENSER AND THE CONTROL MUST DECIDE HOW MUCH OF THE AVAILABLE HEAT IS EXCHANGED THROUGH EACH CONDENSER SURFACE. A THREE-WAY VALVE ON THE COMPRESSOR DISCHARGE CREATES ADDITIONAL COMPRESSOR HEAD FOR THE SAME CONDENSING PRESSURE, WHEREAS A THREE-WAY VALVE ON THE CONDENSATE LINE MERELY TAKES SOME OF THE PRESSURE-DROP FROM THE EXPANSION VALVE.
