Summary

THE PARIS METRO DECIDED UPON A PROGRAMME OF VENTILATION AND OF ENERGY SAVING. THE FIRST EFFORTS WERE BROUGHT TO BEAR UPON THE REDUCTION OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION BY THE TRAINS, AFTER WHICH IT WAS CONSIDERED INTERESTING TO ATTEMPT AN EXPERIMENT ON THE RECUPERATION OF HEAT ON THE AIR EXTRACTED FROM THE METRO. A PROJECT TO HEAT VARIOUS SOCIAL PREMISES WAS CARRIED OUT, USING AN EXTRACTED AIR-WATER HEAT PUMP LOCATED IN A VENTILATION SHAFT. AN EVALUATION OF ENERGY AND ECONOMY HAVING SUGGESTED POSITIVE RESULTS, THERE WOULD SEEM TO BE AN IMPORTANT OPENING FOR THE HEATING OF DWELLINGS AND ADMINISTRATION PREMISESNH PARIS AREA.
