HEAT TRANSFER AND PRESSURE DROP PERFORMANCE OF SMOOTH AND INTERNALLY FINNED TUBES WITH OIL AND R22 MIXTURES.

Summary

THE OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF 2 AUGMENTED TUBES IS COMPARED WITH THAT OF A SMOOTH TUBE WITH PURE R22 AND WITH MIXTURES OF R22 PLUS ISO 32 OR ISO 68 (150-OR 300-SUS) NAPHTHENIC MINERAL OIL. ADDITIONALLY, THE PERFORMANCE OF ALL 3 TUBES WITH REFRIGERANT-OIL MIXTURES IS COMPARED TO PERFORMANCE OF THE SAME TUBE WITH PURE REFRIGERANT. THE ENHANCEMENT PERFORMANCE RATIO OF THE MICRO-FIN TUBE IS CONSISTENTLY HIGHER THAN THAT OF THE LOW-FIN TUBE WITH EITHER PURE REFRIGERANT OR REFRIGERANT-OILMUS THE OVERALL ADVANTAGE OF THE AUGMENTED TUBES IS NOT AS DEFINITIVE WITH REFRIGERANT-OIL MIXTURE.
