Author(s) : HAMBRAEUS K.

Type of article: Article, IJR article

Summary

THE PAPER REPORTS A STUDY ON THE EVAPORATION OF R134A INSIDE SMOOTH AND HORIZONTAL TUBES. TESTS WERE PERFORMED WITH THE PURE REFRIGERANT AND WITH OIL-REFRIGERANT MIXTURES. THE HEAT FLUX WAS VARIED FROM 2 TO 10 KILOWATTS/M2. THE INNER DIAMETER OF THE TUBES WAS 12 MM. TWO EVAPORATORS WERE USED, OF 4 AND 10 M LONG, AND THE OIL CONTENT WAS VARIED FROM 0 TO 2.5 MASS PERCENTAGE(SYNTHETIC OIL, EXP-0275). THE RESULTS ARE GIVEN. THE EFFECT OF OIL DEPENDS ON THE HEAT FLUX. THE RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH THE CORRELATIONS OF PIERRE AND JUNG.
