A CLOSED FORM MODEL IS DEVELOPED IN TERMS OF MELT FRONT MOVEMENT WITH TIME, TRANSIENT TUBE WALL AND FLUID EXIT TEMPERATURE TO GENERATE PARAMETERS FOR ENGINEERING DESIGN OF A HEAT EXCHANGER FOR LATENT HEAT STORAGE. THE EFFECT OF HEATING FLUID FLOW RATES, FLUID PROPERTIES, DIMENSIONS OF THE TUBE AND THERMO-PHYSICAL PROPERTIES OF PHASE CHANGE MATERIAL ON THERMAL PERFORMANCE ARE DISCUSSED.
