Summary
The use of an electrically driven hermetic compressor in a standard-type air conditioning unit for BMW, series 3, was investigated at the test bench for automotive air conditioning systems. This speed controlled compressor has been developed by Danfoss for air conditioning of electric vehicles using R134a and ester oil.
