Summary
The heat transfer characteristics of an asymmetric finned tube condenser were numerically studied using the commercial code Fluent and an optimal asymmetric finned tube condenser was designed to enhance the heat transfer capacity of the condenser. The air conditioner with the asymmetric finned tube condenser designed was tested according to the standard GB/T7725. The results show that, compared with those of the symmetric finned tube condenser, the energy consumption decreased by 1.7%, and the cooling capacity increased by 1% and the EER rised by 2.6%.
