Summary

THOUGH MOST OF PRESENT BULK OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTING MATERIALS SHOW PRONOUNCED DECREASE IN CRITICAL-CURRENT DENSITY AT 77 K IN RATHER WEAK MAGNETIC FIELDS DUE TO THE WEAK LINK NATURE OF GRAIN BOUNDARIES, THEY CAN HAVE SUFFICIENTLY HIGH CRITICAL CURRENT DENSITY IN VERY HIGH MAGNETIC FIELD AT LOWER TEMPERATURES. A DESIGN OF 20 T SUPERCONDUCTING MAGNET WITH HIGH-CRITICAL TEMPERATURE OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR UNDERTAKING THE ROLE OF CONDUCTOR IN THE HIGHEST FIELDS IS PRESENTED.
