THIS STANDARD SPECIFIES AN ANALYTICAL METHOD FOR EVALUATING AND INTERPRETING THE THERMAL STRESS UNDERGONE BY A PERSON IN A HOT THERMAL ENVIRONMENT. IT DESCRIBES THE CALCULATION PROCEDURE FOR THERMAL BALANCE AS WELL AS THE SWEATING RATE (REQUIRED SWEATING) THAT THE HUMAN ORGANISM HAS TO UNDERGO TO ENSURE EQUILIBRIUM AT THIS BALANCE. IT MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DETERMINE WHICH PARAMETER OR SET OF PHYSICAL PARAMETERS OF THE ENVIRONMENT IT IS NECESSARY TO CONSIDER AND TO WHAT EXTENT, IN ORDER TO REDUCE THE RISK OF PHYSIOLOGICAL CONSTRAINTS.
