DURING THE LAST FEW YEARS, CAPACITIVE HUMIDITY SENSORS WITH POLYMER FILMS WHICH ABSORB AND DESORB WATER MOLECULES IN RESPONSE TO CHANGES IN HUMIDITY HAVE BEEN WIDELY FOUNDATION < TECHNISCHE EN FYSISCHE DIENST VOOR DE LANDBOUW > HAS GATHERED A LOT OF EXPERIENCE, BECAUSE MANY HUMIDITY CALIBRATIONS AND OPERATIONAL INVESTIGATIONS IN PRACTICE ARE DONE DAILY. THE RESULTS WITH CAPACITIVE SENSORS SHOW A CONSIDERABLE INCREASE IN QUALITY WHEN COMPARED WITH EARLIER TYPES BASED ON THE MEASUREMENT OF CONDUCTIVITY.
