Summary
The Capital International Airport is the biggest one in China. The article presents the heating and air conditioning system design of its new terminal. It uses: an all-air system with low-supply-air velocity in large spaces; fan-coil units with fresh air plus double pipes in the peripheral region; and fan-coil units with fresh air plus double pipes in peripheral region and uses fan-coil units with fresh air plus chilled water in the region all year round. In view of the architectural characteristics, nozzle or diffuser air supply modes, air pavilion supplying air in the departure hall, and double-wall spiral ducts are used. The article describes the introduction of fresh air and the water system for air conditioning and smoke-management design and summarizes the designer's experiences.
