Summary
The authors present a novel dilution refrigerator. It takes advantage of charcoal sorption pumps for compactness. The precooling down to the phase separation temperature is done by a 3He sorption cooler type behaviour. A first prototype was built as a proof of concept. Based on these preliminary results, a second prototype has been designed. The authors present the concept, the result of the first prototype and the design of the second prototype as well.
