Hydraulic-powered fan coil for advanced hydronic distribution systems. 2. Thermal performance and energy requirements of modified fan-coil units.

Summary

The two conventional fan-coil units described in Part 1 of the paper were modified by replacing the fan motor with a small water turbine as the power source. The main purpose of the study was to determine the feasibility of using the circulating water in a hydronic system to drive the fan to realize savings on the fan energy requirement.
