Selection of fan-coil-chilled water systems under high sensible heat ratio conditions.

Author(s) : WU X.

Summary

An obvious non-linear deviation would occur between the heat load of a fan coil in a fan coil unit and the water flow rate through it when the ratio of the enthalpy difference to the humidity ratio difference is high in indoor air handling processes. Therefore, it is suggested to choose a variable-flow-rate chilled-water system with compound pumps which, even for the multizone water supply system having a similar pressure drop in each zone, is energy efficient and capable of improving the operation of the two-way regulating valve on user's side.
