Summary

The aim of this article is to study the flow conditions of a two-phase secondary refrigerant (ice slurry) in pipe systems and to examine the failures that occur; the authors pay particular attention to the operating conditions of centrifugal pumps with these slurries. The article provides a comparison of the operating characteristics of a water pump and those of a pump using slurries of various compositions.
