Summary
At the University of Applied Sciences in Yverdon, Switzerland, theoretical and experimental investigations of heat transfer to ice slurries in pipes have been performed over the past 5 years. If only small heat fluxes occur, the velocity profile of laminar flows in tubes are stable. This result leads to a theory for the calculation of pressure drops in heat exchangers. It is presented in detail in the article.
