Summary

The monitoring system described in the article was designed for the refrigerating plant of a Spanish beer production plant. It includes a PC and a software called "Specifix". The operation of the plant can be optimised, and the costs reduced by more than 10%. The monitoring system and the different parts of the programme are described.
