Summary
The difference in energy consumption between beer and malt production factories is analysed in detail taking into account the distribution of thermal and electric energy consumed in the different parts of the process. The most recent technologies of energy efficiency techniques are presented and described: the infusion method, the Lauter Tun Cuba filter, the simple/double decoction method among others (see also IIR Bulletin ref. 2000 - 0303 and 2000 - 0875).
