Summary

The use of add-on components for adding olfactory stimulants to existing ventilation systems both substantially reduces the percentage of occupants dissatisfied and may allow for a reduction in the required outdoor ventilation rate. Research results show a significant reduction in decipol figures under certain conditions. However, it is necessary that guidelines be produced for the use of olfactory stimulant to attain the high standard discussed in the article.
