Summary

IMPROVEMENTS OF INDUSTRIAL HEAT PUMPS CAN BE EXPECTED WHEN APPLYING REFRIGERANT MIXTURES INSTEAD OF PURE REFRIGERANTS AS CALCULATIONS AND EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS SHOW. THESE IMPROVEMENTS CAN DECREASE INVESTMENT AND RUNNING COSTS BY A BETTER ADAPTATION OF THE LIMITED HEAT PUMPS COMPONENTS TO THE TEMPERATURE LEVELS AND CAPACITIES, BY A LOSS FREE CAPACITY MODULATION AND BY POSSIBLE ENERGY SAVINGS WHEN USING SENSIBLE HEAT SOURCES AND SINKS AND ADAPTING TO THEIR TEMPERATURE PROFILES THOSE OF THE REFRIGERANTS.
