Type of article: Article

Summary

GIVES A SHORT PRESENTATION OF LABORATORY METHODS OF MEASURING THE THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY AND HEAT TRANSMISSION COEFFICIENT AND THEN ANALYSES THE TECHNIQUES WHICH CAN BE APPLIED IN SITU. STATES THAT THE ONLY METHOD WHICH YIELDS RELIABLE RESULTS IS THE HEAT FLUX METER. ON THE BASIS OF ACTUAL EXPERIENCE, DESCRIBES THIS METHOD AND COMMENTS ON PROBLEMS CONNECTED WITH ITS PRACTICAL APPLICATION. (INT. BUILD. SERV. ABSTR., GB., 22, N 2, 1987, 23, 87-00581.
