Summary

THE RESULTS OF A STUDY ON THE DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF VALVES AND GAS PORTS OF HIGH SPEED HERMETICALLY SEALED COMPRESSORS FOR MARINE AIR CONDITIONING ARE PRESENTED. THE AUTHORS SHOW THAT A STUDY OF THESE COMPONENTS WITH AIR AND NOT REFRIGERANTS PROVIDES A QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE EVALUATION OF VALVE PERFORMANCE. THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE COMPRESSOR IS DISCUSSED. ITS ENERGETIC CHARACTERISTICS ARE IMPROVED BY MORE THAN 10%. STUDIES ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THE DESIGN OF NEW HERMETICALLY SEALED COMPRESSORS.
