Type of article: Article

Summary

ASSURANCE OF GOOD AIR QUALITY WITHIN A BUILDING CAN ONLY BE AC HIEVED IF THE PROBLEM IS ADDRESSED AT EVERY STAGE OF THE PROJECT. THIS SHOULD START WITH THE SPECIFICATION EXCLUDING UNSUITABLE MATERIALS AND PROCESSES, AND PROCEED THROUGH TESTING AND VERIFICATION DURING THE CONTRACT. THIS IS ALL SEEN AS PART OF THE COMMISSIONING PROCEDURE, WHICH IS AN ON-GOING PROCESS DURING CONSTRUCTION, RATHER THAN TRYING TO CHECK MATTERS AFTER COMPLETION. REFERENCES, PROCEDURES AND SALIENT ITEMS ARE GIVEN. A.R.T.
