Summary

THE SLIDING PROPERTIES OF THIS MATERIAL CAN BE IMPROVED BY ALLOYING THE CAST IRON WITH ANTIMONY, TIN, COPPER, IRON ETC. EXPERIMENTAL RESULTS AIMED AT THE SUPPRESSION OF D-GRAPHITE DEVELOPMENT ARE DESCRIBED. THE INFLUENCE OF GERMANIUM ON INOCULATED AND NON-INOCULATED CAST IRON WAS DETERMINED. LIFE TESTS OF COMPRESSORS WITH PARTS MADE OF GERMANIUM ALLOY CAST IRON UNDER EXTRA HEAVY OPERATION CONDITIONS WERE PERFORMED.
