INFLUENCE OF PARAMETERS OF REFRIGERATING PLANT ABSORBER PROCESS.

Author(s) : PORNEALA S.

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE AUTHOR HAS SET UP A MATHEMATICAL MODEL TO STUDY THE INFLUENCE MAINLY OF HEIGHT ON THE ABSORBER OFA TYPICAL INDUSTRIAL AMMONIA ABSORPTION PLANT. THE MAIN PROBLEM FACING THE ACTUAL MEASUREMENT OF THE PROCESS IS THAT OF SOLUTION CHANGE FROM THE TOP SPRAY THROUGH THE HEIGHT OF THE COLUMN. SUCH CHANGES EFFECT THE MECHANISMS OF BOTH HEAT AND MASS TRANSFER THAT TAKE PLACE. THE AUTHOR CONCLUDES THAT HIS MODEL ENABLES ACCURATE PREDICTIONS TO BE MADE AND, HENCE, USE MADE OF SUCH INFORMATION IN DESIGN. D.W.H.
