Summary

THE ARTICLE REPORTS ON THE RESEARCH INTO THE INFLUENCE OF THE FOOD LOAD IN COMMERCIAL DISPLAY CABINETS (SHOW-CASES, REFRIGERATED CABINETS AND COLD ROOMS) AND OF THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE ON ENERGY CONSUMPTION. DURING ONE YEAR, TESTS WERE PERFORMED ON MORE THAN 200 CABINETS. AIR TEMPERATURE, THE TEMPERATURE IN THE COLD SPACE, THE LOADING LEVEL OF FOODSTUFFS AND ENERGY CONSUMPTION WERE RECORDED. TEST RESULTS ARE PRESENTED, AS WELL AS THE CORRELATION-REGRESSION ANALYSIS FOR EVALUATING THE IMPORTANCE OF EACH FACTOR. CALCULATIONS SHOW THAT A 1 % INCREASE IN THE AMBIENT AIR TEMPERATURE RESULTS IN A 0.8 % INCREASE IN THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION, AND THAT A 1 % INCREASE IN THE LOADING RESULTS IN A 0.3 % INCREASE IN THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION.
