Summary

A FINITE-DIFFERENCE CALCULATION MODEL WAS DEVELOPED FOR EVALUATING THE ENERGY REQUIREMENTS IN THE SUMMER AIR CONDITIONING OF BUILDINGS. IN THIS MODEL, INTERIOR, RADIATIVE AND CONVECTIVE THERMAL EXCHANGERS ARE SEPARATELY CALCULATED AND, FURTHERMORE, RADIATIVE EXCHANGES BETWEEN SENSIBLE HEAT SOURCES -SUCH AS PERSONS, LAMPS AND OTHER SOURCES -AND INTERIOR WALLS OF THEBUILDING ARE CONSIDERED. SOME COMPARISONS BETWEEN THIS MODEL AND ANOTHER ONE USING SURFACE FILM THERMAL EXCHANGE COEFFICIENTS ARE PRESENTED.
