Summary

THE AUTHORS EXPLAIN THE ADVANTAGES OFFERED BY THIS DESIGN PRINCIPLE. IT IS SHOWN BY MEANS OF RESULTS OF MEASUREMENTS THAT A DISTRIBUTION DEVICE INSTALLED IN THE FLASH CHAMBER LEADS TO A CAPACITY INCREASE. IT IS FURTHERMORE POINTED OUT THAT THE DISTRIBUTION PROBLEM HAS BEEN SOLVED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF STANDARD-TYPE DISTRIBUTORS. MASS FLOW DENSITY AND TEMPERATURE MEASUREMENTS WERE TAKEN ON SINGLE PIPES WITH THE EVAPORATOR TUBE BUNDLE OPERATING. THE VALUES OBTAINED WERE THEN COMPARED WITH THE MEAN VALUES FOR THE ENTIRE TUBE BUNDLE.
