Inspections and diagnostic based on F gas regulation.

Author(s) : TOMLEIN P., TOMLEIN M.

Summary

The policy targets are the further reduction of refrigerant usage, the substantially decreased leakage percentage and energetically efficient operation of air-conditioning systems, heat pumps and refrigeration installations. The success of EU Regulation No. 842/2006 depends on effective measures taken responsibly. The important step to be taken to reduce or minimise TEWI on existing R&AC equipment is to always ensure competent qualified engineers properly maintain the equipment. Measures include keeping heat exchangers clear of dirt and debris by having regular preventative maintenance regimes in place and checking for refrigerant leakage at regular intervals using direct or indirect methods recorded in logbook. The solution described is based on the methodology for leakage inspections of ODP refrigerants recommended by Slovak Ministry of Environment in 2003 and gives the results from the last five years.
