Summary

ALTHOUGH THERE HAVE BEEN MANY INVESTIGATIONS ON CROSS FLOW FAN S, THEIR FUNDAMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS HAVE NOT BEEN MADE CLEAR YET. THE CROSS FLOW FAN THAT IS REPORTED HERE IS INCORPORATED TO AN INDOOR UNIT OF A ROOM AIR CONDITIONER WHICH HAS THE INLET ON TOP AND DOES NOT HAVE APERTURES IN FRONT. THE INTERNAL FLOW MEASUREMENT SYSTEMBY LDV WAS NEWLY ADOPTED. THE MEASUREMENT SYSTEM OFFERS MEAN FLOW PATTERNS AND TURBULENCE ENERGY CONTOURS. THE PAPER DESCRIBES THE FLOW CHANGE BY THE EXISTENCE OF A FRONT PANEL AND OF A TONGUE. NEXT, IT SHOWS HOW THE FLOW IS OBSTRUCTED OR IMPROVED BY PROJECTIONS ON THE FRONT PANEL OR THE REAR GUIDER ABOVE THE IMPELLER.
