THE INTRODUCTION OF DOMESTIC HEAT PUMPS IN SWEDEN BEGAN IN 1974, REACHING A PEAK AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 1980S. BY 1985, AROUND 3.5% OF THE NON-APARTMENT BUILDING STOCK OF RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS WAS EQUIPPED WITH HEAT PUMPS. STATES THAT LACK OF KNOWLEDGE ON THE PART OF INSTALLERS LED TO SHORT-COMINGS IN THE PERFORMANCE OF DOMESTIC HEAT PUMPS AND INCREASED THE NEED FOR SERVICE.
