Summary

A process of thermal energy storage and release with solid-gas reversible reaction is investigated. A mathematical model is developed, with which, time-variations of thermal energy, power, temperature and conversion ratio during charging and discharging stages are studied. It is concluded that energy storage density, release efficiency and the average power obtained by the heat transfer fluid are about 600-700 kJ/kg, 0.7, 110-150 W/kg, respectively. The influences of flow rate, the characteristics of reaction block and equilibrium drop are discussed.
