Describes a study to investigate the reasons for high indoor radon values in several areas in Germany. States that in these regions, sealing methods for reducing radon entry into houses and subsoil suction should be recommended before the construction of new buildings, since at this stage measures against radon entry are more effective and cheaper than for existing houses. Discusses the results of radon measurements in two geologically different areas: Eifel and Hunsruck.
