Summary

Minimisation of the hydraulic diameter of the channel is one of methods of passive heat transfer enhancement. The direct measure of this enhancement is the augmentation of film heat transfer coefficient. As an effect, the dimensions of the heat exchanger are diminished. The paper provides the general technical description of the compact heat exchangers along with a review of the results of various authors obtained for investigations of condensation heat transfer and pressure drop in multi-channel compact condensers. The dedicated testing stand is described. The own experimental results of condensation of R134a, R404A and R407C inside two bundles of mini-tubes are also presented.
