Summary

ON SEPTEMBER 1ST, 1984, A NEW LAW FOR THE USE OF GROUND WATER FOR COOLING DID COME INTO FORCE. FOR GROUNDWATER-COOLED CONDENSING SYSTEMS FOR REFRIGERATION INSTALLATIONS THE CONSEQUENCE IS THAT SOME TAX HAS TO BE PAID FOR PUMPING AND REINJECTION OF THE COOLING WATER. THE AMOUNT RANGES FROM 0. 4 CENTS/M3 TO 1.3 CENTS/M3 DEPENDING ON THE PROVINCE, WHERE THE INSTALLATION IS OPERATING. THIS MEASURE WILL FURTHER STIMULATE THE APPLICATION OF AIR-COOLED CONDENSERS.
