Summary
The paper describes the numerical and experimental superconducting levitation forces of a single-grained YBCO bulk superconductor of approximately 48 mm in diameter. Comparison of the experimental and numerical levitation forces showed that even large bulk superconductors have a macroscopic value of critical current density as high as 2.0 x 10,000 amperes/cm2, not much different from the microscopic value of critical current density.
