Summary

ALTERNATING CURRENT CALORIMETRY WAS USED TO DETERMINE THE VALUE OF THE SPECIFIC HEAT AT LOW TEMPERATURES FOR A SAMPLE OF TEXTRON'S FINE WEAVE PIERCED FABRIC COMPOSITE, A THREE-DIRECTIONAL CARBON-CARBON COMPOSITE WITH ORTHOGONAL FIBRE ORIENTATION. THE HEAT CAPACITY MEASUREMENTS WHICH WERE PERFORMED FROM 30 TO 100 K AT NEARLY 1 K INTERVALS, WERE SIMILAR TO THOSE REPORTED IN THE LITERATURE FOR GRAPHITE IN THE SAME TEMPERATURE RANGE.
