Summary

THE DOMAIN STRUCTURE IN THIS PLATE IS INVESTIGATED VISUALLY AT TEMPERATURES BETWEEN 4.2 AND 300 K AND ALSO THE ABSORPTION SPECTRUM OF THE ERBIUM3 ION IN EACH MAGNETIC PHASE. IT BECAME POSSIBLE TO OBSERVE EXPERIMENTALLY PHASE TRANSITIONS CONNECTED WITH REVERSAL OF THE MAGNETIC MOMENTS, DETERMINE THEIR TYPE, COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF THE CHANGES IN THE MAGNETIC STRUCTURE AND ALSO TO CLEARLY DISTINGUISH THE FEATURES DUE TO SPIN REVERSAL AND TO COMPENSATION OF THE MAGNETIC MOMENTS.
