Matching tunnel ventilation to traffic density.
Author(s) : WOOD D.
Type of article: Article
Summary
A road tunnel has underground junctions, with changes of cross-section and alternative outlets. The problem was to design jet fan ventilation to give adequate air movement in all areas, and to ensure the safety of trapped traffic in the event of a fire. Groups of fans are energised to maintain normal ventilation, or emergency levels of air flow. A.R.T.
