Summary

THE QUICK MOVEMENT OF THE CRYSTALLIZATION FRONT DURING THE FREEZING PROCESS OF AQUIFEROUS ROCKS BY LIQUID NITROGEN LEADS TO GIVE AN ESSENTIALLY NON-STATIONARY CHARACTERISTIC TO THE PROCESS. THE PROCESS MODEL PROPOSED MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO STUDY VARIOUS REFRIGERANT FEEDING TYPES IN THE FREEZING AREA AND TO CALCULATE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE PROCESS (ESPECIALLY TO SPECIFY THE REQUIRED PROTECTION OF FROZEN ROCKS FROM THE CHARACTERISTICS GIVEN FOR NITROGEN FEEDING CONDITIONS). THE RESULTS OF SIMULATION ARE COMPARED WITH TEST DATA. A METHOD IS PROPOSED FOR THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE PROCESS.
