MATHEMATICAL MODELLING OF VENTILATION DUCT PERFORMANCE.
Author(s) : BARRINGTON S. F., MACKINNON I. R.
Type of article: Article
Summary
MATHEMATICAL EQUATIONS WERE DEVELOPED AND SUCCESSFULLY TESTED TO EXPRESS THE AVERAGE AND POTENTIAL AIR VELOCITY OF A WOODEN VENTILATION DUCT UNDER ANY FLOW CONDITION. FAN AIR DISPLACEMENT WAS FOUND TO BE RELATED TO THE STATIC PRESSURE MEASURED AT THE BACK OF THE DUCT PLUS THE FRICTION LOSSES ALONG THE LENGTH OF THE DUCT. FURTHER RESEARCH IS REQUIRED TO VERIFY THESE MODELS USING DUCTS OF VARIOUS MATERIALS AND LENGTHS. (POSTHARVEST NEWS INF. , GB., 2, N 3, 1991/06, 1048.
