Summary
The paper presents a mathematical simulation for the dynamic thermal behaviour of a solar ejector-compression refrigeration system with a capacity production of 100 kilogrammes of ice per day with a solar collector of 18 m2. It consists of an evacuated tube solar collector array, a thermal storage unit and an ejector-compression refrigeration unit. The system was designed to work with R142b as the working fluid at condenser temperature of 30 deg C, generation temperature of 105 deg C, evaporator temperature of -10 deg C, with a required generator heat load of 5.6 kilowatts and an obtained evaporator heat load of 2 kilowatts, the corresponding COP was 34%.
