Summary

THE MAGNETOCALORIC EFFECT OF EUROPIUM SULPHIDE WAS MEASURED IN THE VICINITY OF ITS FERROMAGNETIC ORDERING TEMPERATURE, THAT IS, BETWEEN 5 AND 25 K. THE RESULTS CONFIRM THE POTENTIAL ADVANTAGE OF USING EUROPIUM SULPHIDE AS A MAGNETIC REFRIGERANT, AS INDICATED BY PREVIOUS THEORETICAL STUDIES.
